When A Boy & A Girl Remix Krewella’s “TH2C” (Free Download)

“I’m too high to care,” the voice proclaims. Its conviction carries through filtered vocals, passes punchy percussion and settles deep in your belly.

I remember how heavy A Boy & A Girl’s latest song hit me the first time I listened to it. Though they remixed Krewella’s “TH2C,” this duo deviates from the original in unexpected ways. Gone are the southeast-asian strings and melodic musings which contribute to Krewella’s laid-back summer tune. In its place stand rhythmic synths and crisp hi-hats that culminate into hard drops. The result? A distortion of the leading lyric from a silly remark into an ominous declaration. That purpose makes all the difference for me.

A Boy & A Girl write on their Soundcloud page that they “felt inspired by Yasmine and Jahan’s beautiful melodies and flipped them upside down into a brooding trap jungle.” A transformation in tone indubitably occurs. However, I’d argue that the remix mutates Krewella’s utopia into an epic dystopia. And in this realm, A Boy & A Girl come out on top as A King & A Queen.

But I’ll let you come to your own conclusions. Check out their song below and make sure to share the love!

Coyote Kisses Release ‘Sunny Day’, a Chill, Vocal Track [Free Download]

This song just premiered a few days ago and already has acute attention from the blogosphere and social media. With its stabs and adorable vocal edits, this song builds into a fun, arpeggiated drop with trap elements. I listened to a bunch of other Coyote Kisses tracks and enjoyed the atmospheric, joyous elements to their songs, but, I feel like maybe they used the same synths and sounds on too many songs. Yet, I really like the style these guys are going for – a specific, adventurous, piano and synth driven feel which nobody else can lay claim to. If you like Coyote Kisses, make sure to listen to their Thundercolor EP (my favorite tracks being ‘Stay With You’ and ‘This is How You Know’.

Zeds Dead & Oliver Heldens Release Groovy Future House Track, ‘You Know’

Hot off the presses: popular artists Zeds Dead and Oliver Heldens collab on a new track, ‘You Know’. Zeds Dead has been delving into some deep sounds on their most recent EP, Somewhere Else. A notable song for the duo’s new style is ‘Lost You’, which features future house style bass with a slow tempo and catchy lyrics. Proving they’re not just showing off their ability to produce outside of dubstep, now Zeds Dead has teamed up with Heldens to push and further define the emerging popular house subgenre. ‘You Know’ will surely be stuck in my head as I go through the rest of the day – hope you get a listen and enjoy!

Suken Debuts ‘I am Suken’ & ‘Best Friend’ Remix

French producer Suken redefines the standards for modern electro in his debut original, ‘I am Suken’. Even though we’re slightly late to the game on it’s release, this deliciously upbeat track is both undeniably catchy and masterfully mixed, not to mention it reminds us of everyone’s favorite trancetic electro-house producer, Madeon. Listen to his equally brilliant remix of Foster the People’s ‘Best Friend’ and be sure to keep this guy on your radar.
