It’s been a busy few weeks for GRiZ, the electro-funk legend, as he has been releasing new music and announcing tour dates. Say it Loud World Tour begins in April starting in Asheville, NC. GRiZ will be making his way around the U.S. with the Floozies through May and then will be attending some of the largest music festivals, including What The Festival and Summer Camp Music Festival. If you miss the chance to catch GRiZ on tour, you can see the saxophone god at one of the most famous venues; GRiZ will be closing off the summer with The Floozies, Manic Focus, Sunsquabi, and Muzzy Bearr at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. GRiZ fans are so excited for this show that pre-sale tickets sold out in less than two hours! You can still buy tickets here for this amazing show.
Recently, GRiZ has been releasing new music including Stop Trippin’ and A Fine Way to Die. The Anthem (ft. Mike Avery) was released just a few days ago and it is worth the listen. Keeping his music consistent with his future funk styles, The Anthem includes saxophone played by himself and vocals by Mike Avery and Los Angeles Children’s Choir. Read what GRiZ has to say about his latest release:
“For this record I first went out to New York to record with some of the daptone records guys to get the main groove Of the tune. Then I had to travel out to Van Nyus to record a children’s choir, which was the most nerve racking thing I have done in my entire life! Having a group of 7-11 year olds sing your song is quite the feeling. I then finished up the song with Mike Avery in Chicago. He was one super soulful dude and really captured the golden era funk vibes that I love so much. Overall, this is a song that is a total funk dance party. Enjoy with friends, preferably in a room full of disco balls :)”
