After three strong releases on Feed Me’s new label, Sotto Voce shows no signs of slowing down with the highly anticipated debut album by Zeros, Space Noir. Straight from the streets of South Chicago, Zeros presents a high energy cinematic album, with slick production that feels like a heroic soundtrack to the future.
“When writing for a long time, there’s often intense feelings of isolation and detachment from the world and people around you. You begin to feel like the main character in your own story. I wanted to tell the story of the liquored up detective punching keys on a typewriter, silhouetted behind frosted glass, but with a musician and a keyboard instead.” – Zeroes
Zeros’ first single, “Red Panda”, shows off his style – the song features airy synths, piano, and vocal chops, leading up to a funky, wobbling drop. “Red Panda” was released two weeks ago on Sotto Voce Records. Listen to the track here:
It’s interesting to see how Sotto Voce has evolved over the past year. Giving artists the ability to work directly with Jon Gooch not only will improve their production and mastering skills, but also their philosophical beliefs in music. Clearly Zeros is inspired to create a themed album, not just a collection of random tracks.
Presale for Space Noir begins on Friday, August 29th on iTunes. With each presale purchase, you will receive “Red Panda (Original Mix)” and “Red Panda (Minimal mix) instantly.
