If you are looking to travel the space-time continuum by means of electronic music look no further than Oliver’s newly released EP Light Years Away. The duo is back with a pair of intergalactic, groovy tracks. The EP was released earlier today through Fool’s Gold records. Their first single off Light Years Away, “Fast Forward”, was released two weeks ago.
You can even listen to “Fast Forward” right here:
The two tracks have a remarkably different pace but still keep that same spacey, out-of-this-world vibe. The first shares the title of the whole EP, Light Years Away. I’ve been personally waiting for this track for sometime now, as I would constantly hear Dillon Francis drop it during live sets. It starts off slow and methodically then launches into a far-out piece, with an addicting and aggressive bass line. To top it off funky and robotic male vocals are included in the breakdown in the middle of the track. The second track entitled Fast Forward seems to fire off on all cylinders right off the bat. This track is far faster paced and well produced with a plethora of melodies and pounding buildups.
Overall I am extremely content with this release, as I had always felt that Oliver has a unique feel for electronic dance music. If you want to be taken to infinity and beyond I suggest you too become familiar with this EP.
