Zedd has been one of my favorite artists (though not as much recently) and was one of the first dance music artists I saw live. 2013 saw Zedd rise from his silly, Russian-German self to a Grammy award winning, album-producing, OWSLA supported artist. Not only did Zedd push the limits of EDM and pop music, he also embarked on a massive tour with an amazing visual set and production team. Along the way, Zedd recorded his life on the road, and the result is Moment of Clarity, a documentary delving into his hectic touring life as one of the nation’s biggest dance crazes.
Watch the documentary:
What I like about this short movie is that it really shows how Zedd is on the inside. He’s a dedicated, passionate, talented producer who wants to bring an experience to the masses. Although I don’t personally like his newer, pop-oriented music, the general public sure does. It’s amazing that someone as simple and humble as Zedd could excel through the ranks of producers to win a grammy award for his work. He’s not about “turning up” or “twerking”, Zedd is about music and people. Anyways, check out this documentary for an intimate look at Zedd’s moment of clarity.
Side note: the true romance between Zedd and Dillon Francis is unreal, just look at these guys:
