Last night at the House of Blues in Boston, Exmag and Lettuce got together to give us the ultimate night of funk and groovy beats.  Exmag started off the night with a mellow, but groovy set that is typical of their live shows. Unfortunately, Denis of Gramatik, one of the four members of the super group, is absent from this tour because he is on a tour of his own around the US and Europe. While his presence was definitely missed, the group sounded great without him and put in the extra umph to make up for it. After a short break in between sets, Lettuce came out with clear intentions of bringing the house down. Nothing is better, at least in my opinion, than seeing a big group of musicians jamming out and having a great time together, which is exactly the type of energy that Lettuce brings as they invite you to join in on the fun by dancing along. The talent on stage was nothing short of extraordinary, with jaw dropping solos by each of the members scattered throughout the set to showcase all of the talent. Stealing the show, however, was vocalist Alecia Chakour who came out to sing on a couple of songs. Her powerful, soulful voice, brought chills through my entire body multiple times, and it was clear that the crowd loved her too by there constant uproar and applause. The best moment of the show for me was hands down the final encore song when she came back out to close the show and give me one more chill down my spine for the road. The entire set was groovy and made me wanna dance the entire night away, and it is definitely one I recommend checking out if you have the chance on the rest of the tour.
