If you haven’t seen the name Braeden Bailey reposted all over your Soundcloud feed yet, you’re about to. This mysterious 19 year old Dallas native has been climbing his way to get the attention of more seasoned talent like 20syl and What So Not (peep his remix for Diversa at the 19 minute mark), and has been featured on multiple instances of Soulection’s radio show. If Mr. Carmack sexually assaulted Sam Gellaitry during a Soulection show and they had a hate-child, the product would be this young talent who has branched away from his jazz/soul roots to make some of the most clever future trap beats I’ve heard all year.
It’s awesome to see that artists with experience in their respective areas tackle the challenging call to innovate and reshape the music game, which is something that the electronic dance world (especially trap!) direly needs these days. My favorite kind of producer is one who isn’t confined by genre or style, and needless to say Braeden Bailey has been consistently surprising us one Soundcloud post after the next, constantly pushing the boundaries of what we consider to be ‘Trap Music’.
I could talk for hours about why each song is technically advanced, feels-inducing and inventive, but instead I’m just going to say that this kid certainly understands how to dynamically control the flow of a song and you should listen to every last post on his Soundcloud for a better idea of what I’m getting at. With only a year of serious electronic music production under his belt, we can undoubtably expect to hear amazing things from Bailey in 2015. Keep your eyes peeled!
